ABOUT

Juliana is an instructor of guitar, bass, and ukulele, and has been performing lead guitar and backing vocals with original band Crimes of Passion for 10+ years. 

 

Together they have played on KFOX radio after winning the LBS contest, and opened for the Doobie Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Big Brother and the Holding company, and Greg Kihn at the Mountain View Shoreline. They also opened for Pat Travers and Foghat at Discovery Park.

 

Juliana has also played the Whisky A Go Go in LA, the NAMM show in Anaheim, and other venues with Queen Tribute band Killer Queens, and has played bass and guitar in the SJSU big band and latin jazz ensembles.

 

Solo guitar performances include the NAMM show in 2009 and 2011, opening for Michael Schenkar 5 times, and the Misfits at the Avalon in Santa Clara.

 

Juliana received her BA in music from SJSU in 2018.  Her playing style is very versatile, ranging from classical and jazz, to indie rock and metal. Juliana studied rock, jazz, metal, and blues guitar for 13 years with Ry Kihn, classical guitar for 2 years at De Anza college, and jazz guitar for 1.5 years at SJSU with Rick Vanidier. She has been influenced mainly by Randy Rhoads, Danny Elfman, Kevin Barnes, and Robin Pecknold.
